A sneak peek of what’s next.
This is the manifesto of the Down South Lab project.
DOWN SOUTH LAB
MANIFESTO
A photo project still rolling, raw and wide open.
Down South Lab is a photo project that starts in the South and speaks to the world.
“These shots move through city streets and everyday vibes, catching real moments, real-life spaces, and those everyday moments that usually slip by unnoticed. Each photo comes from a real, unfiltered look at the world, just trying to capture that perfectly imperfect beauty of daily life.”
Down South Lab: crafted with care, truly unique
Each photo is treated as a unique piece — no mass production, no shortcuts. Every material and frame is chosen to truly elevate the shot. Prints come in small, thoughtful editions, set by the artist’s own rhythm. Each one is numbered and certified. No identical frames, no standard sizes, and definitely no AI tricks. Just real-life stories, told honestly.
Each Artwork is the very first real deal from the series
What you see on the site? If people vibe with it, more copies get made, still numbered, still certified — until we hit the limit. And once it’s gone, it’s gone. That edition’s done, and we move on to the next story.
Down South Lab is rooted in the South and proud of it
Everything happens right here: from the first spark of an idea, to fine art printing, to the custom framing — all carefully done in the heart of Sicily, in Catania. For us, staying put doesn’t mean standing still. It’s a choice. A creative one. A way to say: we believe in where we come from.
It’s about trusting local skills — the kind of hands-on craftsmanship that still knows what quality really feels like. It’s how we open new paths, build real connections, and imagine fresh ways of seeing things — starting from right here.
Down South Lab wants to keep it green!
Every photo’s printed on top-notch Hahnemühle paper or canvas, built to last and made with care for the planet, with inks that are Green Guard or Eco Passport by OEKO-TEX® certified, super low impact.
And the wood for the frames? Totally legit FSC® or PEFC® certified.
